The Archbishop’s Palace of Lima is the residence of the Archbishop of Lima and the administrative headquarters of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of the city. It is located on Plaza Mayor, in the historic center of Lima. The palace is considered an excellent example of the neocolonial architecture that developed in Lima in the early 20th century. Pope Paul III designated this site as the city’s main ecclesiastical seat in the 16th century, while the current building was designed by Peruvian architect of Polish origin Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski.
