After check-in, we will have some time to refresh and rest after the flight. In the afternoon, we will set off on an exciting three-hour city tour, during which we will discover the charm of the historic center of São Luís – part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

We will stroll through the old cobblestone streets, free of traffic, leading us to hidden squares, shaded parks, and picturesque façades of colonial buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. We will feel the atmosphere of the past while learning more about the rich history, culture, and architecture of the city – a blend of Portuguese, French, and African influences. São Luís is also famous for its colorful azulejo tiles that adorn the façades of many buildings – a true feast for the eyes.

After this unforgettable walk, we will return to our hotel, filled with our first impressions of Brazil and excited for the adventures ahead. Overnight stay.

Day 3

Atins

Atins

Breakfast. After breakfast, together with our English-speaking guide, we will depart by transfer from São Luís to Barreirinhas. After about four hours of travel, we will reach the entrance to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Our final destination for the day will be the small fishing village of Atins, located at the mouth of the Preguiças River and surrounded by beautiful sand dunes.

From Barreirinhas, we will board a private motorboat for an exciting ride along the Preguiças River. Together with our guide, we will enjoy a scenic journey with several interesting stops along the way.

Our first stop will be in the village of Vassouras, where we will walk among small dunes. With a bit of luck, we may spot curious monkeys and colorful parrots, which often appear near passing boats.

Our next stop will be in Mandacaru, where we will taste delicious homemade ice cream made from exotic local fruits. We will climb up to the old lighthouse, surrounded by cashew trees, from where wonderful panoramic views open up – perfect for photos.

The last stop will be Caburé – a small, isolated village located between the river and the Atlantic Ocean, where we will feel the spirit and tranquility of this remote place.

Upon arrival in Atins, we will check into our accommodation. Later, we will take a short walk through the village, strolling along its sandy paths and soaking in the atmosphere of this magical place, accompanied by our guide. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 4

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park

Breakfast. Today we are in for a true adventure in Lençóis Maranhenses National Park! The day will start from Atins – this way we will avoid the tourist crowds that usually depart from Barreirinhas and enjoy the dunes in all their splendor before they fill with visitors. Even the journey there will be an adventure – we will board a private off-road vehicle and cross hilly and sandy trails that cut through the landscape.

Once we reach the site, we will have the opportunity to explore the dunes on foot. We will immerse ourselves in this unique natural environment and enjoy breathtaking views. We will take unforgettable photos while walking through the soft sands and watching the light play across the undulating landscape. We will also be able to refresh ourselves with a dip in the crystal-clear freshwater lagoons formed between the dunes – a true natural wonder.

After some time to rest and take in this unique world, we will head back to Atins. On the way, if desired, we may stop for lunch at a local restaurant serving traditional cuisine. The afternoon will be free for relaxation or a stroll, while our guide will introduce us to the possibilities for additional activities that we can choose according to our interests. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 5

Parnaiba

Parnaiba

Breakfast. In the morning, we will set off on a new route, first crossing the Preguiças River by boat to reach Caburé, where a private 4x4 vehicle will be waiting for us. We will drive along the beach toward Tutóia – a journey of about an hour and a half. From there, we will begin an exciting crossing through the Delta of the Rivers – Delta das Américas – aboard a private motorboat. This experience will not be just a transfer, but a true exploratory journey through the hidden treasures of the delta.

At midday, we will stop for a break and lunch (not included in the program) in a small fishing village, where we can enjoy simple yet delicious local food with a view of the river. After lunch, another unforgettable experience awaits us. Shortly before sunset, we will drop anchor in front of a small island to witness the return of hundreds of scarlet ibises – an impressive spectacle that will leave a lasting memory. (It is important to note that during the rainy season, the birds may not follow this ritual.)

After this spectacular natural show, we will continue by boat to Porto de Tatus, and from there – with a short transfer of about 20 minutes – we will arrive at our accommodation in Parnaiba. After check-in, our English-speaking guide will provide us with all the necessary information about the next day’s transfer to Jericoacoara. Overnight stay.

Day 6

Jericoacoara

Jericoacoara

Breakfast. After breakfast, we will begin the final stage of our journey – the transfer to Jericoacoara. A Portuguese-speaking driver will pick us up from the hotel, and we will travel for about an hour and a half along a paved road to the town of Camocim. There, we will cross the Coreaú River by ferry, at the point where it nearly flows into the Atlantic Ocean. This short crossing will offer us the chance to take beautiful photos, especially in sunny weather.

Afterwards, we will board a 4x4 vehicle and continue along the coast toward Jericoacoara. This part of the trip may take between 2 and 5 hours, depending on how many stops we decide to make along the way to explore the dunes and lagoons we encounter. A scenic journey awaits us, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos.

Upon arrival and check-in at our accommodation in Jericoacoara, we will have free time to explore the lively town center. We recommend a walk to the nearby dune, which offers a wonderful view of the sunset – a beloved tradition for both locals and visitors, who gather every evening to bid farewell to the sun with applause. Overnight stay.

Day 7

Jericoacoara

Jericoacoara

Breakfast. Today we have free time to enjoy the last day of our paradise adventure.

Jericoacoara, or simply “Jeri,” will welcome us with its many small shops, bars, and opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. The sunny weather here delights both locals and visitors almost year-round. Thanks to the constant winds, the area is also perfect for water sports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Whether we choose to relax on the beach or in a hammock, we will best enjoy the sun and sea breeze with a glass of caipirinha – Brazil’s signature drink – in hand. There will also be opportunities for optional day trips, or simply to unwind in this peaceful and beautiful corner, soaking in a little more of Jeri’s unique atmosphere. Overnight stay.
