Explore the small houses, admire local artwork and weaving, and, if you wish, enjoy a ride on a raft made of totora reeds, similar to those once used by their ancestors.

Continue by boat to Taquile Island, a large natural island with villages, farms, and terraced hills overlooking the sapphire-blue waters of Lake Titicaca. Please note that international flights to and from Peru are not included in the tour package price. Travelers typically arrive via Lima (Jorge Chávez International Airport). Domestic flights within Peru are also not included unless specifically mentioned in the itinerary.
On request we can book domestic flights, extra overnights, transfers, or extra tour packages to the Amazon Jungle; please ask for availability.

Visa Requirements

Most travelers to Peru do not require a visa for short tourist visits (up to 90 days), including citizens of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia, and the UK. A valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry and one blank page is required. Visa fees, if applicable for certain nationalities, are not included in the package price.

Vaccinations & Health

There are no mandatory vaccinations for entry into Peru. However, it is strongly recommended to be up to date on routine immunizations such as tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis A and B, and typhoid. If visiting the Amazon or certain rural areas, precautions against yellow fever and malaria may also be advised. Consult your healthcare provider prior to departure. Bottled or filtered water is recommended for drinking.

Currency

The official currency of Peru is the Peruvian Sol (PEN). U.S. Dollars (USD) are also widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops in major tourist areas. ATMs are available in cities such as Lima, Cusco, and Arequipa, though access may be limited in remote areas. Credit cards are accepted in larger hotels, restaurants, and stores, but it is advisable to carry cash for markets, small eateries, and rural visits.
