Plovdiv

We will begin our journey in the morning by picking you up directly from your hotel in Sofia. With our private transportation, we will head directly to Plovdiv – one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with more than 6,000 years of history behind it.

Upon arrival, we will dive straight into the charm of Plovdiv’s Old Town, a beautifully preserved architectural reserve filled with cobbled streets, colorful houses from the Bulgarian Revival period, and ancient Roman ruins. Our walking tour will begin with a visit to the Ancient Roman Theatre of Plovdiv, one of the best-preserved in the world, still in use today for concerts and performances. From there, we will explore the remains of the Roman Stadium, partially revealed beneath the central shopping street, where we will learn about the grand scale of sports and entertainment in ancient times.

Continuing through the historical heart of the city, we will stop at Dzhumaya Mosque, a symbol of Plovdiv’s diverse cultural past and a notable example of Ottoman architecture.

After the guided part of the tour, we will enjoy free time for lunch and leisure. Our guide will always be available to recommend local restaurants offering authentic Bulgarian cuisine or international options. This break will also give us the opportunity to explore independently, relax in a café, or browse the many nearby shops for souvenirs and local crafts.

In the afternoon, we will visit the impressive Balabanov House, a museum and cultural landmark showcasing Revival-period art, furniture, and architecture. Afterward, we will make our way to one of Plovdiv’s iconic hills, such as Nebet Tepe, to take in panoramic views of the city and the Maritsa River.

To conclude our experience, we will stroll through the vibrant and creative atmosphere of Kapana district – the artistic heart of Plovdiv, filled with galleries, design shops, and colorful cafés. This final stop will give us time to absorb the city’s modern spirit intertwined with its ancient soul.

At the end of the day, we will board our transfer and begin our return journey to Sofia, filled with wonderful memories, rich cultural impressions, and perhaps a few treasures collected along the way.

We will arrive to your hotel, where our trip started!
